Driver Setup
Installation
The Activelogix EnergyStar integration requires the alxEnergyStar.jar to be installed in the JACE or Web Supervisor. Once the JAR has been installed the EnergyStarNetwork can be installed into the Drivers container of your station. This can be accomplished by going to the Driver Manager and clicking the "New" button and selecting the EnergyStarNetwork.
Connecting to Portfolio Manager
Before the driver can communicate with your Portfolio Manager account you must enable Web API in your account settings. To do this, log into your Portfolio Manager account and click on Account Settings at the top-right of the webpage. There is a check box below to enable web services so that other applications can pull and push data from your Portfolio Manager.
Once the API is enabled the Energy Star team should send an email to your registered email address requesting more information about the type of application you are trying to connect. To expedite the process make sure to state somewhere in the response that you are using "Activelogix Periscope Software" and need the API enabled in order to communicate.
The EnergyStar API was recently overhauled and the process to gain access to the API is still cumbersome. If you have any trouble getting the API turned on for your account please contact us and we will assist.
Once API access has been enabled you can connect the EnergyStar driver to your Portfolio Manager account. The property sheet of the EnergyStarNetwork has a User Name and Password field, which once set, will update your status and allow integration.
Validating the Portfolio Manager Certificate
If using AX 3.7 or later, you must allow AX to validate the Portfolio Manager certificate for the driver to function properly. Go to Station>Services>PlatformServices>CertManagerService and click on the tab for "Allowed Hosts" to validate the Portfolio Manager certificate. Select "portfoliomanager.energystar.gov:443" and click on the "approve" button on the bottom of the screen.
