Pre-requisites

In order to use the firewall feature, Niagara's WebService should be configured to use the pre-packaged NProtex login template as seen to the side.

Custom login templates are not supported currently in conjunction with NProtex

Description

The Firewall view allows configuration of the system firewall.

The submit button must be pressed in order to apply changes.

Enabled

  • Turn on and off the firewall feature

Mode

  • Whitelist: allow only the addresses in the IP Addresses field to connect
  • Blacklist: allow all addresses to connect, except for those in the IP Addresses field

IP Addresses

  • The text field IP addresses should contain a single IP address per-line

  • IP addresses can be in the following formats:

    192.168.1.1/32(single address)
    192.168.1.1/24(range of addresses defined in CIDR notation)

Only Web users are affected by this firewall.  Any user connecting over a different protocol such as FOX / FOXS will not be affected by the firewall rules.
