The Report provides a high-level view of the security of your server and connected stations.

Generating a Report

Generate an up-to-date report of the security of your connected devices.

  1. Click the menu in the top-right of the application (hamburger menu)
  2. Click "Generate New Report"

nProtex will then navigate to the report view and display a loading page. The Report will be displayed once it has been generated.

Threats

A threat is determined based on a device's failure to adhere to a best practice. nProtex detects threats defined in the Niagara Hardening Guide. Details on each of the threats can be found here: Threats

Understanding and Using the Report View

The top of the Report View displays an analysis of the security of your connected devices. Threats are given a color based on adherence to the best-practice.

Severity Counts

Counts are given to each level of threat severity detected at the time of this report. Each severity count acts as a toggle, which allows quick filtering of threat severities to display. For example, if you only want to see severities at the 'Critical' level, toggle off the 'Minor', 'Warning', and 'Safe' severities.

Severity Spectrum

This is a simple visualization based on detected threat severities, giving you a rough idea of your overall. This element updates with your current selection of threats.

Threat details

Each Threat has a button for details as well as an (i) icon which links to documentation for the threat. Clicking the details button expands a table which breaks down how individual devices (stations) adhere to the best-practice.

Topbar

The name of the server nProtex is installed on.

Report

This menu displays the date of the currently viewed report. Click this element to select from previously generated reports, which are sorted in reverse-chronological order.

Stations

The Stations menu displays which stations are currently selected. If all stations are selected, the menu will show "All". If not all stations are selected, it will display the number of selected stations, "2 selected". If there are issues connecting to particular stations, they will appear as disabled in this menu.

Changing the selection of stations acts as a filter for the Report view and will update the view to only count and show the Threats of the selected devices.
