- Q. I have tagged my site(s) and data and created the necessary references / relations in Niagara. What do I do next?
A. You should now select which "sites" you want defined in Periscope. Navigate to Periscope's settings page and hit "Choose Sites" to make sure you have at least one site selected. - Q. I get a "404 Error" on my screen when first loading my dashboard. What's wrong?
A. Nothing is wrong, you just need to add a view to your dashboard! Click the '+' button at the bottom-left side of your dashboard to add a view, and begin building your dashboard. - Q. I just updated my Periscope JAR/module, why won't my dashboard load now?
A. You must re-fetch your license after a JAR/module update. Navigate here for instructions on fetching your license. - Q. Why are my histories not showing up in query or select mode?
A. All records that have a history must have their corresponding point tagged with "hs:his" and "n:history", with the n:history string path pointing to the trend record location on the station (for Niagara Periscope installations). - Q. Why is my PX View not displaying properly (the graphic is cropped)?
A. PX Views will sometimes behave abnormally when a PX page is opened in a browser window in addition to Periscope. The solution is to close any other tabs or windows that are viewing the PX page and refresh the Periscope dashboard. - Q. As an administrator, how do I add User Restrictions?
A. Periscope can prevent users from making any modifications, and/or remove access to the Periscope settings view. To begin, navigate to the Periscope user Directory:- from station config, navigate to Services > PeriscopeService > Periscope Database > Users
- right-click on the particular user's folder and choose Edit Tags
add or edit the following tags as follows:
Tag name Type Value Description hs:readOnly Boolean true
when readOnly is true, user is not able to make changes hs:showSettings Boolean false
when showSettings is false, user is not able to navigate to the settings page - after change, load cache: Services > PeriscopeService > HaystackCache > Load Cache in Actions
